Frankenstein Theme Notes

What will be going on in 2050?

I may still be alive after 36 years, but our nation will definitely change negatively and positively. Global warming is still going on our planet, and it seems it will be more serious problem after 36 years. Taiwan basically has four kinds of seasons now, yet spring, fall and winter won’t come to Taiwan anymore after few years. Furthermore, number of endangered species will rise, and so we cannot see animals as much as we can see today. On the other hand, our technology will develop positively. I guess more robots will be introduced for our working place, and they will do all works today we have instead of us.

(Essay) Criticism in Moral Way

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein illuminates immoral behavior in our lives through abandonment, stealing and violence towards people lives and discrimination. Due to those immoral behaviors are one of contemporary social serious issues, they are principal everyday news items. Mary Shelley let us remind how those immoral behavior will influence our society.
According to the welfare home in China, about 260 kids has been abandoned by their parents. Child abandonment is today’s world serious issues especially in China. Once we have got birth, then it will be automatically duty for us to take a response for the kid. We should not have a baby unless we are assured to be their parents. Shelley clarifies child abandonment through Victor’s action. In the story, it is the duty for Victor to take a response for his creature as far as he is the only one creator. Nevertheless, Victor leaves his creation, and also totally ignores his responsibility against the monster even the creature asked him to do so. As a result, the monster committees a lot of crimes for surviving and revenge. Victor’s abandonment results not only monster’s unhappiness, but also the unhappiness including people around him. Shelley let us remind the fact consequently abandonment increase the number of crimes.
Due to long term deep economic depression, number of homeless is still increasing per year. At the same time, the number of violence towards people lives such as stealing is also rising as well. Shelley emphasizes the relation of those two social issues through the monster’s situation. The monster hovers between life and death by hunger since he has been abandoned. Consequently, the monster steals food and his needs from people. In truth, this harsh condition he faced leads his inhuman action for surviving. It appeals public better treatment for those issues.
Woman, Blacks and people with disability has suffered from discrimination among long term history. According to the dictionary the word discrimination means “the practice of unfairly treating a person or group of people differently from other people or groups of people.” People tend to judge others by only their looks and first impression. It results those historical discrimination, and those are still existing in our society constantly. Shelley also illuminates discrimination by people’s reaction toward monster’s looks. In the story, all people who see the monster are freaking out and make an enemy of him even though his personalty is highly intelligent and quite generous. It let us rethink about discriminated people’s mind from the monster’s position.
In conclusion, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein illuminates immoral behavior in our lives though abandon, stealing and violence towards people lives and discrimination. Once audience have focussed on immoral action in the story, they will realize how reconciles injustice in the story with reality. Thus, Shelley just mirrors injustice toward our society in the Frankenstein.
