-Winston seems to stick to Oldspeak. Syme knows Winston doesn’t agree with Newspeak.

– the people who is wearing an improper expression ( nervous tic & anxious ) on your face at public place are considered to be anti- Party.
– (e.g.)wearing anxious face when the victory announced

-a dark-haired female co-worker ( brunette co-worker)
– He was worried about if he shows his thoughtcrime in front of her because if she is a spy, then he will be arrested.

– Their aim is let them engage to the Party by getting a baby

6. What is the Party’s policy on marriage, divorce, and children?.
– marriage= relationship that attracted by sexual desire is not arrowed
– divorce= couple who don’t have children cannot get divorce
– children= they have be educated for anti- sex

Chapter 7-8

1. “If there is hope, it lies in the proles.” What do we learn about this large section of Oceania?
– only proles has a chance and power to crush the Party. The power for overthrowing Party rule lies on Proles.

2. What is the Party belief about the proles?
– They are same as animal

3. Describe the one time that Winston held real evidence that big brother was lying.
-certain people who the Party deemed never existed had actually existed.

4. What is ownlife? How does the Party feel about it?
Individualism and eccentricity. A desire to do something for your own benefit. (i.e. hobbies, ownership of property, love, or any other Thoughtcrime)
– It’s individualism and freak. selfishness for their own good.
– The party suspect people who have ownlife as anti- Party

5. What is The Lottery? Why is it done?
-It’s entertainment for Proles.
– the winners are actually not existing

6. For whom does Winston realize he is writing his diary? Why?
– O’Brien
– It’s because “We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness” really means daily

7. What does Winston write in his diary?
– His wish to be one of proles
– the Party slogans

8. Describe what happens when Winston goes to the antique shop, and who he sees when he comes out.
– He met Mr. Charrington, and bought a glass paperweight containing pink coral because he can know something about past
